The Story Behind
Pixels & Petals Design Co.
After more than two decades in the creative industry, I found myself at an unexpected crossroads when I was laid off from the company where I had built my career. What surprised me most wasn't the uncertainty, it was how quickly friends, family, former coworkers, and local businesses began reaching out for design help. They knew they could count on me for thoughtful creative work, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing the job right.
That's how Pixels & Petals Design Co. came to life.
The name reflects two things that have always inspired me. Pixels represent my passion for design, photography, and bringing ideas to life through creative problem-solving. Petals represent the place where I find my creativity: my tiny Chicago garden. Whether I'm tending flowers, watching birds around the pond, or simply spending time outdoors, nature continually reminds me that the best design is intentional, balanced, and built to grow.
The echinacea flower in my logo was a natural choice. It's one of my favorite garden plants not only because of its beauty, but because it supports pollinators and thrives year after year. It symbolizes resilience, growth, and creating something meaningful that lasts, values I strive to bring to every project.
Pixels & Petals Design Co. is more than a freelance business. It's a reflection of who I am: a designer inspired by nature, dedicated to quality craftsmanship, and committed to helping clients bring their ideas to life with creativity, care, and attention to every detail.
